When you enter you are able to protect your entry with the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program. This gives you peace of mind when you enter that you are able to receive a refund if the unforeseen happens.
If you are unable to attend the event for any reason the following policy applies:
If you withdraw before 11:59pm on the 31st of January 2027 you are able to receive 75% of your entry back OR a transfer to the 2028 event (date TBC).
If you withdraw between the 1st of February and 11:59pm on the 1st of April 2026 you are able to receive 50% of your entry back OR a transfer to the 2028 event (date TBC).
If you withdraw between the 1st of April and 11:59pm on the 30th April you are able to receive 25% of your entry back.
THERE ARE NO TRANSFERS TO THE 2028 EVENT AFTER THE 1ST OF APRIL.
THERE ARE NO REFUNDS AFTER THE 1ST OF MAY 2026.

If you want to transfer your entry to another competitor:
If an athlete gets pregnant after they have registered for Run Akaroa:
Scenic Sports Events will transfer the athlete to the following year's event (for up to 2 years inclusive) with proof of pregnancy or birth certificate of new child/ren.
For a spouse or partner of a pregnant women:
Scenic Sports Events will transfer the athlete to the following year's event with proof of partner's pregnancy due date or delivery of new child/ren for one month prior, or two month's post event date.
Documentation: Please provide written proof that is verified by a medical professional (eg, doctor or midwife).
If the event has to be cancelled due to reasons out of the organisers control (eg, a force majeure; natural disaster, terrorism, extreme adverse weather) there will be no refunds. In good faith Scenic Sports Events will endeavour to refund competitors any leftover funds once event costs have been covered.
