Yes! There is a Bag Drop at each start line on Summit Rd. Please visit the crew and load your bag into the event trailer. Ensure your bag tag is securely attached to your bag.
All bags will be brought back to the Finish Line as soon as your race has begun.
Yes you can up until the 30th of April, 2027. Please log in to your Race Roster account via your registration email. You can amend your race distance in the system. You will then get a new entry confirmation showing your amended entry. If you are going 'up' a distance you can also make payment at the time.

No. You can enter late but ONLY at Race Registration either in Christchurch OR Akaroa. Late entries will only be taken if there are spaces available. Keep an eye out on social media for updates surrounding race distance availability closer to race day.
You can book a bus ticket via our shop. Use the link below to book. Bookings close a week before the event on Sunday 9th May, 2027.

No, there is no set compulsory gear for Run Akaroa, however the course is exposed in places so we recommend you check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.
A thermal base layer (long sleeve) and a waterproof, windproof seam sealed jacket is highly recommended if the weather is cool, wet, or windy.
Yes you can. We have well stocked Aid Stations however if you prefer to carry your own hydration and nutrition you are very welcome to do so.
You are able to walk and run in the 10km and 21.1km events ONLY. Please keep in mind the cut off times for each race distance.
There is no walking option in the 42.2km event.
There is no separate walk category for any race.
Yes, we allow your friends to collect your race pack for you. Please make sure they visit the correct race distance registration desk to collect your race pack on your behalf.
For 42.2km, 21.1km, and 10km competitors who are unable to register on Friday 14th or Saturday 15th May in Christchurch or Akaroa please contact support@runakaroa.com
