Join us for an unforgettable experience in the beautiful Akaroa Harbour. Each course hugs the rim of an ancient volcano; over looking the sparkling waters of the Akaroa Harbour to the right, and the South Pacific Ocean to the left.
Run Akaroa is all about the experience - celebrating the elite runners through to first time competitors. The courses are designed for maximum wow-factor and for this day only runners and walkers can safely enjoy "Summit Road" by foot.
Whether you are coming to Akaroa for the day or making a weekend of it, spend time discovering the history of Banks Peninsula and immerse yourself in the culture and atmosphere of this historic town in Canterbury. There is so much to do it's no wonder Akaroa is a top location for visitors from all over the country and around the world!

For this day only experience Summit Road safely on foot!
Summit to Sea!!
Each course takes you from the top of the surrounding hills down into the historic settlement of Akaroa. Competitors are bused or driven to each start line saving your legs most of the hard work!!
When you are already starting at 450m above sea level, and then getting to run around the rim of an ancient volcano, overlooking Akaroa and the bays the entire way... Absolutely stunning! Cannot wait for race day!

Don't want to drive to Akaroa?
Competitors are able to leave their car in Little River and catch a bus to their particular start line.
Buses will be departing at approximately 8:10am and will be traveling along Summit Road, dropping competitors to the relevant start lines. (Departure time may change.)
After the event the buses will bring you back to your vehicle in Little River. Buses will be departing Akaroa at 4:15pm (after the Prize Giving) and will have you back in Little River at approximately 5:15pm.
